What is a hockey injury-risk assessment?

A hockey injury-risk assessment is a 20-minute, comprehensive session conducted by trained medical professionals to assess your musculoskeletal health and identify any potential injury risks specific to hockey players. It involves a series of tests aimed at evaluating your strength, flexibility, balance, and overall physical condition.

If you are currently hurt or dealing with a nagging injury, get the attention you need with an Injury Screen!

What should I expect during the assessment?

During the assessment, you can expect to undergo various physical tests and movements. These may include measurements of your range of motion, strength testing of key muscle groups, balance assessments, and specific tests related to hockey movements. You may also be asked about any previous injuries or areas of concern. Please dress appropriately in athletic shorts, shirt and shoes.

How will it help me?

1. The primary goal of the risk assessment is to identify any underlying issues or potential injury risks that may affect your performance or lead to injuries on the ice. By pinpointing these areas of weakness or imbalance, healthcare professionals can develop personalized recommendations and interventions to help you prevent injuries, optimize your performance, and enhance your overall well-being on and off the hockey rink.

2. Additionally, the session provides an opportunity for you to discuss any concerns or questions you may have about your physical health and receive guidance on injury prevention strategies, proper training techniques, and rehabilitation exercises tailored to your specific needs as a hockey player.

Overall, the hockey injury-risk assessment is a proactive step towards maintaining your physical health and maximizing your performance as a hockey player.

During your session we will...
